An effective whistleblower policy encourages staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders to report suspected wrongdoing without fear of retaliation. This sample whistleblower policy is intended to help CAAs comply with the federal rules and regulations related to the protection of whistleblowers. It covers the following key areas: Purpose, Good Faith, Reporting, Confidentiality, Investigation, and No Retaliation. CAAs may use this sample whistleblower policy as a template as they develop and amend written policies and procedures for resolving complaints and protecting whistleblowers at their organizations.
